About Stand Up For Africa (SUFA)

Stand Up For Africa (SUFA) is a pan-African non governmental development organization formed in August 2003, dedicated to promote an African perspective to the eradication of poverty and suffering in Africa. Stand Up For Africa aims to be a wake up call to anybody who loves Africa to advocate for a fair deal for Africa.

We operate throughout Africa and aim to draw our support worldwide from Africans now living outside the continent (the diaspora) and from others who are friends of Africa.

By mobilising those who love Africa, we aim to achieving our three main objectives:

  • Raise funds for the disadvantaged in Africa to facilitate them attain self-sufficiency;
  • Provide volunteers from the African Diaspora to share and transfer their expertise for Africa development;
  • Advocate and lobby for justice and fairness.

SUFA is Africa Focus and Africa Driven led by Africans to tackle Africa’ problems as a single entity. Our first programme is addressing the issue of the ‘Child Slave Trade’ in parts of Africa.

SUFA has one voluntary full time staff who is aided by volunteers and a board of six trustees from different parts of Africa resident in UK. SUFA is located in Battersea, London and seeks to establish a working partnership with other NGOs who share its vision.

The acronym SUFA (pronounced suffer just like in English) ought to be a constant reminder of a suffering Africa that is pleading its children and friends all over the world to STAND UP FOR Her.
