About Changing Streets
Too often people feel they have to wait for the council to sort out problems with their street that, with help from their neighbours, they could make a start on themselves. Changing Streets is all about you taking action to change the area where you live. The campaign was initiated by TimeBank and BBC London, to encourage the active participation of communities in neighbourhood improvements. The aim is to engage communities with practical issues and show them how they can make a difference in their own areas. Whether you want to brighten up your street with some art or trees, or make your area a safer place, Changing Streets will help to point you in the right direction. Around 500 streets have responded to the campaign, representing a range of communities in and around London.
